LEARN ABOUT THE SEAPORT

We believe that understanding the history of the Seaport at the Port of Oakland and West Oakland is crucial and provides a better understanding of how the two interfaces operate conjunctively. This educational component is oriented towards the everyday Oakland resident who may not have the time and resources to sift through documents and convoluted / complex data.

As a community hub focused on centralizing information, The Oakland Port Alliance strives to make education accessible for everyone regardless of socio-economic status and line of work. We've outlined three narratives below in an attempt to help better educate the Oakland community on port sustainability, what it means, and how it might affect you specifically. â€‹

THE OAKLAND PORT ALLIANCE.

The Oakland Port Alliance is a centralized platform that encourages sustainable planning participation at the community level. We want to give the residents of Oakland an accessible platform where they can stay informed on current issues, as well as learn about the measures the Port of Oakland is taking to reduce their emissions and impact on air quality. We intend to increase transparency between the Port of Oakland and the communities of Oakland so that there is better mutual understanding about the processes and what works and what doesn’t.
